Mission Statement
To create an environment where people are accepted and challenged on a journey to wholeness, connection and construction of alternate realities.
Core Values
Six fundamental core values are at the heart of our vision and mission:
· A commitment to people, process, purpose and passion.
· A commitment to hope and the belief in each person’s potential for growth.
· A commitment to healthy relationships that are sustainable.
· A commitment to healing and wholeness grounded in healthy connections.
· A commitment to the integration of Biblical spirituality and clinical practice.
· A commitment to diversity, open-mindedness, creativity and innovation.
Counseling & Psychotherapy
We provide counseling and psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families and groups. We can help with issues such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, stress, ADHD, marital issues, family concerns, divorce and blended family issues - to name just a few.
Your counseling session is an opportunity to explore your concerns, relationships or other issues. With increased insight, support and understanding you can clarify and be more able to move toward your chosen goals. This process will be facilitated by the caring concern, training and experience of your therapist. Like many important things in life, growth is a process and involves significant personal motivation and commitment. Your motivation for change must be strong enough for you to make the commitment of time, energy and personal resources to the process
Pre-Marital Counseling
It is often said that, if you fail to prepare, then you prepare to fail. This truth can certainly be applied to the institution of marriage. The marriage relationship is too important for us to not make adequate preparation. It is not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly; but reverently, discreetly, advisedly, soberly, and in the fear of God. The consequence of the “cheapening” of marriage in the culture is a tendency to minimize the role of premarital counseling. Martin Luther once said, “There is no more lovely, friendly and charming relationship, communion or company than a good marriage.” At Randolph Walters & Associates we believe that you can have a good marriage and we want to help you prepare for it and learn the strategies for having a healthy and fulfilling marriage. We believe that this is possible. Dr.Walters has prepared a unique integrative program to help you prepare for your marital journey. Dr.Walters is also trained as a facilitator of the PREPARE/ENRICH program and integrates this into his work. PREPARE/ENRICH is the leading relationship inventory and skill-building program used nationally and internationally. It is built on a solid research foundation and significantly improves a couple's relationship. PREPARE/ENRICH is custom tailored to a couple's relationship and provides couple exercises to build their relationship skills. It consists of a customized couple assessment completed online that identifies a couple's strength and growth areas. It is one of the most widely used programs for premarital counseling and premarital education. We look forward to serving you as you prepare for your special wedding day and your marital journey.
Covenant of Care for Churches
Traditional counseling and psychotherapy models have tended to ignore the importance of spirituality in one’s mental health. However, an individual’s spirituality can be an effective protective factor from mental health problems. In some faith communities, the consequence of this separation of spirituality from mental health is the de-emphasis and minimization of the importance of counseling services. Christians struggle with the same relational, emotional and psychological challenges as non-Christians. Randolph Walters & Associates is committed to bridging this gap by providing quality counseling and psychotherapy services to the Church community. To help churches find a way to support those members who are in need of counseling services, Randolph Walters & Associates have created a Covenant of Care that provides a framework for this support. The Covenant of care enables a church to register as a member of Randolph Walters & Associates Network by contracting for a determined number of counseling sessions. The church will refer appropriate counseling candidates within the period of the covenant. Please download form from the link below.
Consultations & Evaluations
We provide consultations to individuals, groups, organizations and churches; and we have developed a behavioral health program for a home care company specializing in traumatic brain injury.
Seminars & Workshops
We also provide training in a number of mental health topics, including the area of spirituality and mental health. All seminars are tailored to meet the needs of the group or organization.
Confidentiality
Be assured that what you discuss with your therapist is confidential. The information you share will be treated with great care and sensitivity within the following parameters:
Psychotherapy is a collaborative process, and its success depends on the quality of our working relationship, your motivation/level of expectancy and commitment to the process. Your therapy will be a journey in which you will come to discover and understand more about yourself and the experiences that have shaped you. You will also learn to overcome the obstacles you face, and gain new strategies for reaching your goals in life.
How We Work Together
We will develop a professional and not a personal relationship. You will be best served if our relationship stays that way and if our sessions concentrate exclusively on your concerns. To facilitate the process we will invite you to talk freely about whatever is on your mind, including thoughts, feelings, dreams, memories, etc. We will listen as deeply as we can to your thoughts, feelings, fears and hopes; and we will work together to clarify exactly what is going on and what you can do to reach the goals you have for your life.
