Meet Dr. Randolph Walters

Education
Dr. Randolph Walters earned his Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from Immaculata University, M.A in Counseling from Eastern University and Master's in Theological Studies from Palmer Theological Seminary. Dr.Walters completed his undergraduate studies in the Caribbean, earning his B.A. (Honors) in Sociology and History and post-graduate Diploma in Education from the University of the West Indies (U.W.I) in Barbados. He has also completed Leadership Training at the Haggai Institute for Advanced Leadership Training, in Singapore.

Trained as a Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Walters is a National Certified Counselor, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. He is the Founder and Director of Randolph Walters & Associates, LLC; a private counseling practice in Philadelphia. He is a mental health provider for the University of Pennsylvania Behavioral Health System. Dr.Walters is a gifted therapist who utilizes a holistic approach that is deeply committed to the integration of Biblical spirituality and clinical practice. He integrates the best of psychoanalytic psychotherapy with cognitive-behavioral approaches and systems theory focusing on transformation and characterological change. He has worked successfully with women who are victims of abuse and with couples who are either preparing for marriage or dealing with marital problems. Dr. Walters is often sought after for marriage counseling in the Tri-State area. He provides individual, couples, and family therapy. His specialties include trauma-informed therapy, adults struggling with childhood and family-of-origin issues, mood disorders, male psychological issues, couples therapy, pastoral counseling and spiritual direction. Dr.Walters also conducts clinical supervision for masters level interns and other therapists.

Dr. Walters is Associate Professor of the Counseling Psychology Department at Eastern University. For several years, he also served as a member of the Faculty of the Doctorate of Ministry training Program in Marriage and Family at Palmer Theological Seminary. His research interests include male psychology and men's issues, attachment theory, fathering and the father-daughter relationship, trauma-informed treatment, spirituality and mental health. Dr.Walters is increasingly in demand as a conference and workshop speaker. He has presented at professional conferences on several issues pertaining to human growth and development, including spirituality and mental health, the impact of childhood sexual abuse on spirituality, the father-daughter relationship, and the development of Manhood and Identity. Dr. Walters is particularly gifted in connecting with men and boys and is a popular speaker at men’s groups. He has also appeared on radio shows, Comcast Channel 28 television in Delaware and in 2008 was a guest expert for the nationally televised, Emmy Award winning, Tyra Banks talk show. He is the author of “Daddy’s Girl: A Psychological Examination of the Father-Daughter Bond.”

Dr. Walters is passionate about Ministry and has served in Ministry for over 35 years, traveling throughout the Caribbean, including Singapore and Africa. He has completed Evangelism training in Holland with Billy Graham. Dr.Walters has also served as a Pastor in his native Barbados, and in the United States. He is currently Family Life Pastor of CareView Community Church in Lansdowne, PA.
Family Man
He is married to Betty Walters, the wife of his youth and is the father of Safiya Roberts, Ayo, Akil, and Tia Walters.
